"Ceramics has taught me to be more open about who I am as a human being; to place the good and the ugly in life into my work, and to widen my horizons on other content, that I may or may not use in my work in the present as well as the future as a craftsmen and an artist. The discipline of ceramics has taken me to a place of euphoria that I never thought imagining at all could happen to me." -Caroline Yankura

Introduction

My name is Caroline Yankura, and currently I am studying sculpture and Ceramics at the Maine College of Art in Portland maine. I create fresh, vibrant, as well as unique pottery, that may or may not be functional outside the crafts world, or to the viewer looking at my work in general.

My Work

Currently, I am creating work from my inspiration and love of plants, flowers, and herbs. The most recent work I have produced, are realistic boquets of flowers; "My Extravagant Companion," and "The strength of Beauty and Love."  These sculptures  represent the messages of kind welcoming presence of the fragility within the flower its self, as well as the bright invigorating colors.
